In short
Marina d'Albori is a small cove on the Amalfi Coast, about 1.5 km from Vietri sul Mare towards Amalfi, below the SS163 coast road.
Sea access and beach clubs
The cove has two beaches, split by a small stream. Access to the sea is free on both, but towels cannot be laid on the sand: to stay on the beach you rent a sunbed from one of the two beach clubs, Lido da Enzuccio and Lido A' Cartera. Neither is run by the restaurant.
The beach clubs of the cove are run by third parties: book sunbeds and umbrellas directly with them.
- Lido da Enzuccio: sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach or on the solarium, a wooden deck right above the sea; pedal boat and canoe hire
- Lido A' Cartera: sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach; pedal boat and canoe hire
Things to do
- Swimming: the sea is free to access from both beaches.
- The restaurant rents stand-up paddle boards for €10 an hour: ask at the restaurant when you arrive.
- Ideas for SUP, kayaking, snorkelling and boat trips
- Trails between the villages of Vietri that pass above the cove
- The history of the cove: fishermen, the paper mill and the 1954 flood
Getting here
From the SS163 coast road, a staircase of about 200 steps leads down to the beach.
The taxi boat leaves from the Vietri Vacanze pier, in Marina di Vietri sul Mare, and reaches the beach in about 5 minutes. It costs €10 per person return (€5 each way), half price for children, and is reserved for guests with a restaurant booking. It runs from June to August: message us on WhatsApp for times.
All directions: taxi boat, bus, car and parking →When to go
The cove is a little cooler than Vietri sul Mare and Salerno: from around 12:00 the mistral often blows, and in the evening a cool breeze comes down the stream, so bring a jacket. Around 18:00–19:00 the sky over the sea often turns pink. July and August are the busiest months for swimming; June and September are milder and quieter.
Lunch and dinner on the beach
Marina d'Albori restaurant is on the beach, with tables only outdoors and the sea in front: catch of the day, lemons from our own grove and Campanian wines. Guests with a table booking can arrive by taxi boat from Marina di Vietri.
